We are current holders of Music Mark, Basic Skills Award, Gold Artsmark, Flagship for Food for Life Partnership, HPS Active Mark and Out of Schools Learning opportunities Schools Extra Award.
We are proud of our Church Aided status which resources us from the Diocese and LEA. 'St Giles School is an excellent school clearly inspired by a living Christian faith that permeates all aspects of its work.' (Nat Soc Statutory Inspection 2008) We aim to encourage the best of Christian response to truth and life at it's fullest;and the opportunity for the children to explore, experience and secure an understanding of the Christian faith for themselves.
Our site is located on the edge of the Peak District and the town of Matlock. As a small school (105 approx) we maintain close knowledge of the children and smaller classes than average.

Facilities are modern and able to cater for disabled access throughout.

The site nestles under Riber Castle hillside, with beautiful planted grounds and a secure building (CCTV) in the village of Starkholmes, within walking distance of the town resources.
There are four main teaching areas within the building, 2 offices, a modern well equipped hall, courtyard, library and sports facilities inside and outside. Parking is available at the front of the building for staff and disabled with adequate parking available for others in close proximity.

Next door we have the Lower School site of Highfields Secondary School which becomes very familiar to our children before they are due to leave us for their next phase.
If you choose to visit us in person the children will be happy to talk to you and give you and hopefully your child/ren a tour of the premises. Please make an appointment by calling 0162956813 and endeavour to come while the children are in school if time allows. The teacher hoping to teach your child in the future will also meet you if possible.
